Are you comfortable talking candidly to people, even strangers, about personal details (hardships, hopes, struggles, pain, hope, etc., etc.) of your life, or are you more bent on keeping your 'business' to yourself?

i guess it depends, there have been times when i have been able to discuss openly about what i been through with people i hardly know, but that is only because they have been through something similar, and we can relate. That doesnt happen very often...

Mostly i tell "my business" to only those that are closest to me.

My life is literally an open book. My sexual history is archived in the Kinsey Institute at Indiana U.

Ppl know I am bisexual, a veteran of the sexual revolution, a nudist and just about every other part of my bio.

Maybe the openness of the counter culture was in response to our parent's generation social secrecy - they did all the things we were doing but kept up appearances, which I see as hypocrisy.

There are still a lot of things that a lot of people don't know about me, ironically enough the people who know the least are the ones I'm closest to.

I usually keep my private life private and discuss it with very few people, however, on this board I have talked about more than I have ever talked about to some of the friends I have. I guess you all make me feel comfortable here Smile

I'm not a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma but I do keep some thoughts private.

Yeah you have to keep some things to yourself, I would never tell all of my thoughts to another person.

That's one super power I don't think I would want. Being able to read other people's minds.

Now that is a different story, how cool would that be if you could read someone's mind, we would probably be enemies with a lot of people!

The latter. You don't need to know my business unless I feel obligated to tell you.

It would certainly have advantages (like at the poker table) but do you really think even your closest loved ones don't think something unflattering about you every now and then? Sometimes ignorance really is bliss.

Maybe an open chapter to an otherwise very closed book.

My Mom pretty much knows everything about me - she's my closest buddy, but besides her, there is rarely anyone who knows anything about me. Men I've dated, people I've worked with, never know anything about the real me, my life, my struggles, my successes, etc.

I think it's presumptuous to tell people your personal business because most people don't give a shit. They have their own life to worry about. I really don't care to know people's life stories and I don't care to have them know mine either.
