Comic strips, comic books, humor, satire, cute, or action, what's your poison in the pen and ink world of 1-dimensional characters?
I like most comic strips, Garfield, Peanuts, Nancy, Lola, Beetle Bailey, Family Circus, etc., comic books are a narrower field for me, I like Batman comics but I like them from the Golden Age to the Bronze Age which is 1930s through 1980s, anything past that I'm not into...I also have a few Twilight Zone comic books, a few from Fright Night, one or two Abbott and Costellos, a whole stack of Baby Hueys, I used to have the 3D Michael Jackson Captain EO and Moonwalker comics, don't know what happened to them.
And today I get in the mail an issue of the 1992 one and only comic adaptation of Mary Roberts Rinehart's The Bat, which has been vastly changed: Cornelia Van Gorder has gone from a 60 year old spinster to a young, bitter, sexy, paranoid woman who will resort to murder to protect her fortune from the people closest to her, but the joke is on her as she thought the killer, the Bat, was their own invention to scare her, but it was very real and they used an ending that was not in Roberts' novel or any of the three movies done on it, they went with the evil twin story, I couldn't believe it. So, this one was kind of a bust but from what I could find it was a rare comic to come by, so I'm going to hang onto it regardless.
How about everyone else? When it comes to comics, what's your fancy?
