Curses

Do you believe in curses? Can someone be cursed? Do you believe that some people have the power to curse others?

When I was about 9, I was playing Nintendo with my cousin who was beating me. I told her her lucky streak was about to over and formally "cursed" her. She kept losing after that (I think it was just her nerves after happening to lose once and thinking that she was cursed.) Needless to say I thought I had the power to inflict detriment onto people after that.

Nah, don't put stock in curses.

But I do believe that some just have a bad luck streak.

.......I gotta wonder...from my own personal standpoint I don't think they work but I wonder, CAN something be cursed, CAN somebody be cursed? The Archduke Ferdinand's car that he was assassinated in...it's been said bad luck fell to anybody who owned this car, the bricks from the Valentine's Day Massacre garage, anybody who had these in their possession fell into some kind of trouble, whether healthwise or financially or marital, or fatally, something bad happened to everyone who had them. Coincidence? I don't know, but how much coincidence can there be before there's too much coincidence?

Once on Unsolved Mysteries there was a story about a chair that its owner cursed before he was executed that anyone who sat in it would die...and at first it was made a spectacle in a pub, two guys would dare people to sit in it, and anyone who did, including people who didn't know about the curse, died soon after, ranging from automobile accidents, to a cleaning woman who sat in it and died shortly after from a brain tumor. Robert Stack said to (what was then) this day, it hangs in a museum and is NEVER taken down, not even to dust it. I don't know much about curses but I would never sit in it if I knew what it was. I am just a little bit superstitious.

I don't put much stock in curses - a string of bad luck yes, but curses, no.

I don't think so. A persons bad luck is usually the result of their own changeable actions/reactions, IMO. I don't think someone is put on this planet to be cursed, or that another person has the power to inflict bad luck onto them.

Not in the logical sense, no. I have to wonder about the Kennedy family though.
