How do you feel about apologies that are forced? Would you rather the person not apologize if they aren't truly sorry, or if they were wrong should they have to say it regardless of how they feel?

I would rather they say nothing if they are not sincere about it.

Yep, official forced apologies are useless.

Forced apologies are worthless. If someone apologizes but doesn't mean it, just like everyone else has said I'd rather they not say anything at all.

ITA that silence is better than a fake speech. I remember this one daycare I was at insisted kids apologize no matter what and so you'd have two kids who were creaming apologies at each other at the top of their lungs because both were upset and neither wanted to apologize. They didn't bother trying to wait for the kids to calm down and then talk to them but would insist they apologize so it never meant anything.

Depends....sometimes I sorta like seeing somebody who is willfully stupid being MADE to apologize, no matter how fake it is. They may not mean it, but them hating to do it makes up for it.
