Have you ever had a "kosher" hot dog? I see those commercials on tv for them all the time that make it seem like their dogs are more "spiritual" than real hot dogs. I wonder if there is a taste difference.

I don't eat anything but Oscar Mayer hot dogs...but I've wondered about this, exactly what makes a hot dog kosher? For that matter though, what makes a pickle kosher?

Like Hebrew National? I'd never had them & the store ran them buy 1 get 1 free so I got a bunch. To be honest I think they SUCK. They taste..weird lol. Oscar Mayer or Ballpark are both so much better. Finishing the rest of them off tonight. I'll be glad when the nasty things are gone.

Beats me. I think its a religious thing and these are made so heavily religious jews can eat a hot dog made of stuff that dont conflict with their religion or whatever.

Yeah!! thats what they are called Hebrew National. See those commercials all the time. Not surprised they taste weird. I mean a hot dog is a hot dog. . .right? Theyre going out of their way to make their dogs with diff ingredients so its gotta taste off.

I have had Hebrew National Hot dogs, they are not bad. They are Kosher because they are all beef, they can only use certain cuts of beef to be Kosher. Other ingredients are left out like artificial color and fillers and whatever other junk that are in regular hot dogs. I prefer Nathans or Sabrett hot dogs.

Kosher implies the ingredients in the hot dog, also the way the animal is killed, it has to be with a knife to be kosher.

Fish has to have scales, no shellfish.

Vegetables are all kosher, so that includes pickles.

Meat and dairy cannot be on the same plate ever, not even after it has been washed!

There must be more but this is what I know.

I love Hebrew National. It is just a matter of taste. I like all-beef franks over meat franks. They all taste different. I don't really care how they are made.

LOl I like their dinner franks too they are twice the size of a regular hot dog.

Never tried one.

Never heard of them but I like Kosher wine - not sure what makes it Kosher, though
