How do you feel about zero-tolerance laws? In your opinion, are they sufficiently effective in reducing crime?

I think they prevent some in authority from using common sense and discretion such as not calling the police when kids play cops and robbers. Or allow tight asses to call the police when kids play cops and robbers. I hate them just as much as mandatory sentencing.

I think they have the potential to be very unfair. I understand the intent but I believe it can do more harm than good.

I'm more in favor of 3 strikes laws than 0 tolerance.

Mixed feelings. I think it depends on the area. If it's high in crime, then I wouldn't be totally opposed to it....but in general 3 strikes is probably better.
