Supreme Court Decision Orders Release Of 30,000 Inmates

In a highly controversial decision, the Supreme Court ruled Monday that California prisons must drastically reduce overcrowding in the next two years.

I think it's a dangerous measure to take.

Definitely dangerous measures to take but hey, not surprised.

Here's a couple of morbid thoughts:

1. Take a whole island somewhere, dome and gate it off from the world, dump all the criminals on it and let them live in their own society, kill each other, whatever--but leave the rest of us alone, ala the old Kurt Russell movie, "Escape From New York".

2. Or, if #1 isn't feasible, start using the inmates in place of animals in experimentation; what better way to find out how new drugs and products will react on humans, than to use one? Might also be a great crime deterrent in the first place, if you knew your fate that awaited you in jail. . .

But alas, both ideas are subject to get me arrested by the Morality and Human Rights Police out there, so they'd never fly, even though they'd reduce the taxpayer burden of feeding and housing these idiots.

If they're releasing petty criminals....I guess I could get with that. There are a lot of people doing too much time for shit they shouldn't be doing a lot of time for.

ITA! Hope it's only petty criminals. Otherwise, it would be pretty scary.
