I never have. And when required, I usually do a fake January date.

I ought to try that sometime, I use a fake name but use my real birthdate.

I always worried about some sort of Proboard (was member on a few) database that would allow people to do searches based on birth date and year. Until recently, I was very paranoid on how easy it would be to find me online.

I use a fake birthday - my actual year but a fake date. I don't see why a website needs to know my birthday.

That IS a good point, it's not like they're going to be sending you a cake for the occasion.

Yeah - I mean - i can see them asking the year though kids can still lie about it and gain access to sites but the birthday? Why do they need that. seems too nosy for me.

I think some forums ask for birth date because some have an age limit....of course anyone can lie, but hey....

Birth year, yeah, but birth day? I don't mind giving out the year of my birth but the day?

I know exactly what you mean. I don't. When it's "required" I generally give a false one which is why I don't see why they even bother asking.

Back when Shale was flirting with the boys on MySpace he stayed 55 for a few years. You had the option there to change your B'date and I would go each year and be born a year later.

When I went to Hip Forums I started that but they didn't have the change option so I gave it up and told the admin to put in my correct date. There comes a time, if you post pics as I do that the truth will come out. Or ppl will say "he must have had a ruf life to look that old at 55."

Depends on what forum it is. In general, it's no big deal.
