We go strawberry picking and I get apples from Dad's tree. But those apples are really only good for cooking, so they make a mean apple pie.

Do you pick fruit in summer off the tree/vine?

We have a garden and a few fruit trees, we pick peaches, apples and pears when there are any. And we've got strawberry plants this year but they're doing zip, but we're also growing watermelon (hope they make it this year!) and then all the vegetables too.

Our next door neighbors (the jerky ones) have a pear tree. They do not take one pear from it. I don't dare take any, but it makes me sad to think of all that waste.

I hate pears, I've never liked them, our tree got trimmed so much it's hardly going to have any this year and I'm glad because we always get stuck picking them, and then peeling them and cutting them up for pear honey and preserves, and when you don't even eat any of it it's a real waste where I'm concerned.

I did when I lived with my parents. There were lots of orchards there. We had friends who had fruit trees and they'd invite us over to help ourselves. My uncle owns an apple orchard, so we always had fresh apples.

In the fall, I used to pick apples. Haven't done it in about 3 years. I miss the strawberry patch that I used to go to back when I lived down south. Best strawberries I ever had.

Personally, I don't have any trees that grow fruit. My sister has a tomato tree, I think, but she rarely donates.
