    Family picnics Empty Family picnics

Post by Chris Fri Jun 10, 2011 8:32 am

Next week some out of town relatives are flying in from Atlanta, and my parents told my sisters and I that they're planning a big family picnic, and volunteered the local park by my house to be the spot where it will be held.

This whole thing is a bit weird; we haven't had a family picnic since I was about five years old.

    Does your family do this?

Every now and then we have a family picnic. If its for the whole family we need a park because there are just too many people. My place is always volunteered for the smaller ones with just the immediate family and that totals over 25 people.

My wife's side of the family has had some get togethers (and there are a lot of them) but they weren't family picnics per se. Are you having T-shirts Chris? Hey, and that's handy that your house is nearby. People can go over and use your bathroom. And just like NY's H.S. reunion, we want pics please.

LOL. No. We used to though. Our family Labor Day cookouts used to be the business. Tradition has died down for the most part.

My aunt used to host a nice gathering every summer. Now, she does not. So, there are only small gatherings.

More so us packing up and heading to the lake to eat. We don't have a lot of family around but when they're visiting, we'll all just head down. Not sure if that counts.
