    The Exorcist Empty The Exorcist

Post by Supernova Tue Jun 21, 2011 3:53 pm

Am I the only one who found this movie boring? I saw the trailers for it and thought it would be sooo scary and sooo extreme, then I rented it and....nothing.

I never saw it, but the bedroom scenes look bananas.

Any word on a remake? Rumors have been circulating about one for years.

I saw it and I guess for its time it would have scared the heck out of people but I didn't think it was that great. It is watchable though.

You had to have been there. This movie made a new concept of ghost story - having a demon possess an innocent girl. The things the little girl did were quite disturbing and the fact that it was such a normal setting added to it.

It was quite popular at the time and I can remember lines around the block at the theaters in downtown New Orleans. (But that could just be New Orleans - A little interest in gris gris there)

I know it scared the shit out of me and I haven't watched it since. My father said this movie was so huge back in '73 when it came out.

I actually preferred the book, I loved the part where the old priest is trying to work on Reagan and she starts squeezing his scrotum until he's screaming.

The only difference I can remember is a meaningless subplot involving the housekeeper's adult daughter. Other than that it was pretty spot on.

I think they should have kept the spider walk scene in the movie.

I saw it at the theater when it was first released and it didn't make me as uneasy as it did most people. I still thought it was spooky and very well acted. So, yes, I did like the movie.
