Name something that you consider underrated (and why.) It can be anything: a musical act, a snack, TV show, movie, activity, sport, philosophy/lifestyle, etc., etc.

Taking a shit can be a real joy. Try it stoned on grass sometime - a sensual experience.
We take so much common natural stuff for granted in our encapsulated techno world.
Cool breeze blowing on your sweaty bod in the summer, the smell of a pine forest after a rain, hearing the waves hit the rocks on a deserted section of beach in the Caribbean, riding a bicycle, running - breathing.

Reggae. It really, truly is the best music in the world....esp to listen to live. Of course, you have the watered down versions and artists but true reggae is completely mesmerizing. There's always a meaning to it. It's not as popular here because people just don't understand the dialect of the artists, but once you get an ear for it....I promise you....you'll be a fan for life.

They're not underrated, just sadly lacking: decency and common courtesy.

So many things. One movie I particularly like and it's about impossible to find, was never released on DVD, never shown on TV and the tapes are not without their tracking flaws, Stand Alone from 1985 starring Pam Grier and Charles Durning...that was like the original Gran Torino, Veteran grandfather has to protect his family when drug dealers and assassins move into the neighborhood; and if you hated how Gran Torino ended you would probably enjoy Stand Alone, it's so much better.

Re: Things that are underrated.
Just about all the movies I post as topics are underrated. The bowel movement notwithstanding, I think what Shale was alluding to, i.e. "the simple things". To just slow down and literally smell the flowers.
