I once knew a guy named Kim, and a girl named Spencer. Would you give your son or daughter a name that is typically given to members of the opposite sex?

Probably not but only because I got a lot of names already lined up. I AM a writer after all. I name people like crazy.

Can't see that happening. The most I would do is give them a name that's unisex or unisex sounding....like Aaron/Erin.

I might, mine is a unisex name but it is primarily a boys' name, my brother got to pick my name when they were told they were having another boy.
But all the time yeah I come across names that you'd think would be girls', Jan, Kim, etc., and they're boys. And even for our modern liberated open minded age I'm still usually at the whole thing.

No, I wouldn't. There are plenty other really fine names out there.

Nah. Not really. I'd much more go with a unisex name. I already got a name that I can give to my son or daughter as a middle name.
