Not to be cynical, but this comes off like a bit of a circus to me.

Here's the official video.
Really details the difference between 1985 and 2010.

God that was so terrible. The song beginning with Justin Bieber singing Lionel Ritchie's line was enough to tell you that it was going to be a fucking train wreck. MJ must be spinning in his grave.

That was a hot mess.
Wyclef just had to chime in with the loudest yodel he could come up with. And I won't even get into Lil Wayne's rancid lil' cameo.
I think they would have done better if they had just re-released the original WATW, and given the proceeds to Haiti relief charities. This remake is a near desecration to the original.

:x That was terrible. Unlike the original version, I'm not seeing this topping the charts.

That was a damn mess. First off they hyped Janet’s involvement in this and she was in it for five seconds. Also that was a horrible cut and paste job with her and Michael. The song was just all over the place, Mary, Celine, Pink, Jennifer Hudson, and Usher sounded good from what I can remember. Why did they give Nicole Shitzinger a solo part, who’s dick did she suck to get that. Don’t get me wrong the full version sounded a little better until I heard Lil wayne on the track, sounding like Flavor Flav with that autotune. This was something that shouldn’t have been done.

I just now listened to the Haiti version for the first time - god, that was awful... Listening to it and watching the video is stark testimony to just how badly musical talent has deteriorated in one generation.
WATW was always a cheesefest but the original had soaring moments that were mawkishly catchy and made you feel inspired, and I was able to recognize everyone singing in the video. In the Haiti version, I only recognized a handful of those singers... Who was the white woman with the short-cropped hair?
As bad as that video was, it's still probably going to go viral. The American Idol generation doesn't have a clue what real talent is.

That was painful to endure. I think the mix of teen pop singers like Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber with likes of Celine Dion and Barbara Streisand, plus Lil Wayne...just made the whole thing an audio/visual eye and ear sore.
Next up, a remake of "That's What Friends Are For" starring Mary J. Blige, Beyonce, Neyo and Adam Lambert.
