What do you do when somebody interrupts you while you talk? You let them finish or do you interrupt them?

That totally depends. But, in general, I am usually too passive to bring it back around to what I was saying right away, but I try to when the rude person is finished!

It depends on the situation. Sometimes people just coincidentally speak at the same time because they didn't realize the other one wasn't finished. I don't mind that at all. It actually can be funny. But sometimes it's just deliberate rudeness which I don't like. In that case we may have an "interruptathon" until they give up & knock it off.

It does depend on the situation with adults. It can be annoying but at least if a person interrupts by saying something like "excuse me", it's easier for me to let them butt in. Sometimes the topic of conversation is just too exciting for the person to wait their turn. With children though? It really bothers me when I'm speaking with someone and a kid just tries to grab the other person's attention (for some non-emergency). It bothers me more when the other person (usually their parent) doesn't correct them.

They got about a 3-5 second delay to prove that interrupting me was necessary before I cut them off and finish what I was saying.

I'm like Red - I usually just wit until the person is finished. It really does depend on the situation, though, and hat they're saying and how.

I work with 3 or 4 people who do this habitually and it drives me up a wall. Often they'll see the annoyed look on my face and then apologize after they've had their say, but they keep doing it. Once in awhile I just tell them to let me finish.
Depends on my mood, I guess.

I have coworkers who constantly do this as well when I'm talking to my homegirl during break. I don't know them, but they know her. I don't understand how people think it's okay to break into an established conversation to talk about something else! I used to talk over them; sometimes I've even said "Am I invisible?" Now I just remove myself from the conversation completely, and wait until it gets real quiet to say, "I'm still going to finish what I was saying."
