    Apocalypse Now Empty Apocalypse Now

Francis Ford Coppola's adaptation of Joseph Conrad's "Heart of Darkness" transplanted from the 19th century Belgian Congo to mid-20th century South East Asia in the middle of a war. About the only similarities are the name of Marlon Brando's character and his last words. I think he was also the world's highest paid character actor by then but it's a great film.

Do you have the original or Apocalypse Now Redux? Redux is an extended version (about 50 mins). I haven't seen the entire version but I have seen some of the additions. Some think it turns it into a whole different movie. I don't know about that.

It isn't in my list of war movies, but I think anyone who is curious should see it.
