The start of another movie franchise that shouldn't have been. Tough guy Charles Bronson as a liberal architect pushed into becoming a vigilante after his wife is killed and his adult daughter is left in a vegetative state after a home invasion. I liked the ending of the novel better.

Re: Death Wish (1974)
I never read the novel but loved the movie when I shouldn't have in the '70s.
Was trying that very spiritual non-violence stuff and actually felt guilty about enjoying the thugs getting offed in that movie.
I have since learned to control my benevolent nature.
I didn't like the ending of Law Abiding Citizen - think he should have escaped to another city and taken on the corrupt system there.

That would have been a much better ending.

Spoiler re the Death Wish novel. In the movie, he's caught but not punished. At the end of the book, he's cleaning up after killing a bad guy and he sees a cop looking right at him and figures he's cooked. Until the cop just turns away.

Re: Death Wish (1974)
yeah that would have been good. Would have been a very human reaction on the cop's part.

With Charles Bronson? Bits and pieces, though I think I've seen more of the...3rd, or 4th? Whichever one people say is the worst, more than the original.

My grandpa is a Charles Bronson fan, I used to HATE IT when he watched his movies.
