How many bathrooms do you need in your home?

I ask this because the host of one of the real estate programs on HGTV made a comment this morning when the couple was looking at an older home. She wasn't referring to bathrooms even though there was only one bathroom in the home, but she said, "That's the way they did it back then."

I've never really been in a situation where I've needed more than one bathroom, but I know people who need 2 or even 3 bathrooms when they're looking for a place to live.

How many bathrooms did you have in your parents' home when you were growing up and how many do you have in your home now? How many would you like to have?

Growing up we've always had one bathroom. The place im currently living at now, has 2, and thats good for me.

Come to think about it, the house I grew up in had 1-3/4 bathrooms and so does our apartment now. That's more than adequate for 3 people. The house my wife grew up in had 1 bathroom for 6 people. That probably wasn't fun.

My mothers house had two, my dads house has three, my apt has one. Since It's just me.....I only need one.

It's an older house that only has one but I definitely need two especially when the line starts forming.

Growing up we had 2 bathrooms. I only need one but in my place I have 2 which is nice, one for the guests.

Our house has 2, 3 would be more ideal, especially when somebody's sick.

Growing up, I lived in apartments which had only one bathroom. Occasionally, I remember having to use an empty coffee can when it was occupied and I really had to go! (Yuk!)

Today, I have 4 bathrooms in my house, which are way too many, but the previous owners took away an entire bedroom and made it into a laundry room with sink, toilet and jacuzzi tub. I never converted it back because we never needed another bedroom.

There were 8 of us in the house while i was growing up, with 2 bathrooms. Today it's the same for me, 2 bathrooms. One upstairs and the other in the basement.

I'm in an apartment and have 1 bathroom but I live by myself so it's fine. I'd say for an average size family, 2 is good but if you have a larger family, 3 bathrooms is nice. Think someone in the shower and the 2 year old REALLY has to go to the bathroom and the door is locked - 2 is good for a family

I grew up in a one-bathroom home, and now have a one-bathroom home. AND I HATE IT! Would love a 2nd bathroom, but there really isn't a feasible place to add one without seriously cutting into the front yard and creating an odd shape. I've dealt with for 21 years, so I'll deal with it longer.

There are three of us, and we have two. But we would be fine with one because our shower schedules are so different. But, having two is nice when we come home from a road trip and everyone has to go!

I grew up with 1 bathroom, having 7 people in the house and 2 visiting teenagers (my sisters' boyfriends were there constantly). Today I live alone and have one bathroom. Who wants to clean more than more after a long hard day at work?
