Leiby Kletzky, aged 8, was declared missing on Monday after he was reportedly walking home. The parents alarmed the police who deployed a 1,5 day large search operation until they found the Orthodox Jewish child….dead with his body dismembered. The killer is Levi Aron, a 35-year-old guy living in Brooklyn and according to his former wife Deborah and authorities he had no criminal record before.
A surveillance camera led the police to the house of the murderer who showed the officers his kitchen where blood was spread everywhere around the fridge. The law people were shocked by the terrifying masacre scenes where broken feet were seen packed in plastic bags. There were also blood stained towels, knives and a cutting board around.

The horrible crime surprised everyone within the community regarding the fact that the neighborhood is not ranked a crime-risk area. After the examination the coroner let the parents pick up the remains of the child which were buried on Wednesday. The burial service was attended by dozens of people who gathered at Borough Park synagogue.

Aron was detained after he was traced from a dentist office where he had paid a bill. He picked up the little boy by his car and went away. Subsequently the criminal hinted the police where to discover the other “components” of the body which was sliced into pieces, wrapped in garbage bags, inside a red suitcase that had been thrown into a trash container in another area of Brooklyn.

Levi Aron is now accused of second degree crime.

That poor kid first time walking home alone and he had to encounter a freakin psycho. Let's see how the system deals with this one. RIP Leiby.

This is so sad because according to the report on the Today Show, the boy's parents had gone over the route with him and practiced it, as it was his first time to do a walk home like that.

I just heard about that story on the news. Just the ugliness of life man....

It really does. And it speaks so much to the fact that we, as parents, can never do enough to drill into our kids stranger danger and making choices and decisions.

Second degree murder? The story now apparently is that he 'panicked'. Exactly who the hell panics and resolves the matter by cutting a body up and packing it in plastic bags? Fry the bastard, hell, hold a public hanging and broadcast it.

Second degree is the way to go as it wasn't premeditated. The only way this guy is going to plead anything other than guilty is an insanity plea.

Truly. Second degree? Seriously? So cutting the kid into pieces is second degree now?

So sad for the boy and his family. Don't think the killer's long for this world if his jailmates find out what he's been up to.

You know what bothers me about these stories? If this kid were, say, Protestant, there would be no mention of his religion in the caption.

Of course if it wasn't premeditated, what DID he snatch the boy up for? His wife says he's never been in trouble, the article doesn't suggest anything about sexual assault, of course though, cutting up the body would make that VERY hard to prove if not impossible, which may have been his intention. Nobody just 'panics' and chops up a body and disposes of it. A lot of thought goes into that, especially to actually carry it out, and now there are reports saying he kept the boy alive for 12 hours so what was he doing with him all that time and what did he plan to do with him? I mean if we figure worst case scenario, I think it's unlikely he thought if he let the boy go that he wouldn't tell anybody.

Well if he kept the boy alive for 12 hours what was he thinking then? That is more than enough time to pre-meditate a murder in my opinion. They should give this sicko the death penalty.

Well the article doesn't suggest sexual assault, but how do we know if he had that sick desire, couldn't act on it, then panicked on what to do when he knew he was already in trouble? Obviously the guy isn't of sound mind, and maybe there was no sexual assault intended and he just had some messed up need to spend a platonic afternoon with a child, then the panic made him act out in the most horrific way.

Regardless, it is still too early to know for sure if the charges may change.

He probably did have sexual assault on his mind and maybe he did the deed who knows? Whatever it was he still needs to be put to death, can you imagine the horror that child felt when he was suffocating him? What if he wasn't dead when he started cutting him up?

Unfortunately very true. He was probably not only trying to get rid of the body but destroy as much evidence in the process as possible.

If memory serves, there's a Jewish law that says they must be buried within 24 hours of death. I don't know why that is though.
