'Separate but Equal' Empty 'Separate but Equal'

Post by Chris Fri Jul 15, 2011 8:13 am

The general consensus is that 'Separate but Equal,' as far as the law goes, is never actually equal. Do you agree? Is it possible that people can be legally divided into categories (with slightly adjusted privileges), and still treated with the equal respect - despite the separation?

"Adjusted" privileges doesn't qualify as equal for me. We're either equal or we're not.

Nature divides us. Clearly nature does buy into the separate, but equal notion. IMO, people aren't after equality. They are after being given something somebody else has that they want, under the guise of "equality." The modern view of "equality" has really just turned the word into another meaningless word. We got plenty of "adjusted" privileges in all walks of life that we overlook, anyway.

No. Because then it comes into question on WHO determines who gets who adjusted privilege or who determines what's equal. Everyone has to fit in some category.
