Your Opinion of Daniel Day-Lewis

My favorite of today's living actors. An unusual range, who takes his time selecting films, but already a few classics. Films I like:


There Will Be Blood
Last of the Mohicans
In the Name of the Father
The Gangs of New York
The Boxer
My Left Foot



His next film will be titled "Lincoln". He will play Abe during the Civil War. Directed by Steven Spielberg. It includes a terrific cast, including David Strathairn, Tommy Lee Jones, and Sally Field (Mary Todd)


And in 2013 will be directed by Martin Scorsese in a film titled "Silence". It's 17th century Japan as we follow two Jesuit priest spreading Christianity and the Shoeunate regime. Also includes Benicio Del Toro and Gael Garcia Bernal.

I've seen all the ones you mentioned except for My Left Foot. Excellent actor.

Really liked him in The Gangs of New York.
