How do you feel about age discrimination in the workplace? Should employers have the right to use an applicants advanced age against them when it comes to hiring practices? If a seventy year old man applies for a job that involves physical labor, or long hours, should employers be able to reject him on age alone?

Not if he can do the requirements of the job. But, as a guy just short of 70, I know I am not able to do the physical work I once did.
Just recently I had to put together our vandalized records shed, an arduous task of lifting heavy file boxes in the heat for two days to straighten it out. I did it of course (with age comes perseverance) but my body really felt it and had to take hot bath soaks at night.
I realized that I am not good for a days physical work any more.

Yes and no. It think it should really depend in the job. I wouldn't hire a 70. Yr old cop, but I think it stupid to not hire someone who is 70 to be a cashier or something like that.

As long as the employer can fire them if they can't do the job they were hired for without being sued.
