I've kept magazines with Janet and TI on the cover. The oldest mag I have with Janet on the cover is this...
Still in great condition too.
As far as newspaper clippings, I have clippings from our local paper when my friend passed last year. ---Is it weird to keep things like that?

Cheaps, I don't think it's weird to keep things like that.
I do save motocross magazines. I think it will be interesting to look back on all that years from now.

Since 1980 I have been writing letters to the editor and from then to 2009 have had 330 pieces published. I copied the newsclips to copy paper and keep them in binders. Also I copied news articles and columns as reference so now I have a whole bookshelf of these binders and don't know what to do with them. 
I also wrote a column for nudist magazines and special contributions to newspapers, which are also copied and kept.
Since the Internet I now keep these things electronically.
I have 4 collections of these bound newsclips archived in the Miami-Dade County Public Library where I am listed as author.

Yep. Ain't got time for that. I called myself saving the newspaper the day after Obama got elected, but eventually I threw that away. Started turning yellow.

I have the September 1984 Penthouse with pictorial of Vanessa Williams licking another gorgeous babe. And the August 1997 Playgirl with the clandestine nude shots of Brad Pitt. (Lawsuit made them take it off the stands, but my Sikh newstand guy held me a copy).

I have that one too!!!! LOL my sis and her friend wrote on my BMX small little 10yr old bike to get that mag! LOL
