Yeah really, I never got the point of that, I get that it's going to hit harder and that way they can't hide anything like a book so you hurt your hand, but still it's completely unnecessary.

I only had opportunity to spank one 8-year-old nephew's butt.
And it was bare, since he was refusing my wife and daughter telling him to get in the bathtub. One hand took him by the shoulder, the other one painful smack on his bare butt and in the tub he went.
Obviously testing limits and I showed him where they were.
I just hope he doesn't carry a grudge. He's now 34 and quite capable of kicking my ass.

Isnt that how it should be done... I never got why parents spanked a child with a diaper or pants on, if they could barely feel it. To get the point across, have them spank their bare behind.
