    Or if you prefer the English translation, At The Telephone, by Andre de Lorde, which was a very loose inspiration for D.W. Griffith's 1909 film The Lonely Villa with Mary Pickford. I can't find any book with the play in it, though I was able to find it here for reading:

    I don't know about anyone else but I think even today that last scene in the play is enough to give anybody a case of the chills.
