Do you use hand sanitizers?

Is hand sanitizer something you use/buy on a regular basis? If so, do you prefer to use it or would you rather wash your hands with regular soap?

I do use it but I don't think it's a equal substitute for soap.

I use hand sanitizer when I don't have access to liquid soap. It's convenient to use after touching door knobs, elevator buttons, stairwell and escalator handrails and other "public" objects that a million other people touch on a regular basis. I tend to use hand sanitizer at least once a day, but generally have the urge to use it after handling money or shaking people's hands. I'm OCD like that!

I keep a bottle in my purse. Prefer soap but will use it at restaurants or when porta-potty stations don't have wash basins. But I don't use it all day long just for the sake of it like some people do. I'm not OCD (although I refuse to drink from a bottle or straw after someone ~ that's one a real creepo for me).

I use a handkerchief to use along railings and in mass-transit. As Capt Bryce pointed out, those are among the filthiest things to touch.

I am a hand sanitizer junkie. I buy a 12 pack of the tiny bottles and carry one everywhere with me.

I would rather wash my hands with soap and water but I do use hand sanitizer.

Soap and water is always better, but hand sanitizer is still great to have around.
