It means a variety of things to me. I do appreciate the religious side of it but I also consider it a long fall-winter festival. It's something fun in the darkest, dreariest time of year. I love the colorful lighting, getting together with people you WANT to be with, the goodies, plus it's a time of charitable giving, too.
I admit to loving gift-exchanging as well. Many people complain about that part of Christmas, but the level of spending is everyone's discretion.
So, for me, it's about L-O-V-E. And I still love the fat man in red.

Its evolved for me. From a kid loving it, to a late teen early 20's not really getting into it.. now Its a time for family, togetherness and helping to create a magical fun time for my nephews & nieces.

Biblical observance set to the side, it's really just another day. You spend 2 months hassling over and preparing for and it's over in 24 hrs.
