I was 24 and my husband was 25, we had 3 kids and bought a 3 bedroom plus den in Buena Park, California. Was a nice house and we liked it but sold it pretty quickly as he didn't like California.

I was 56 and bought a small condo 350 Sq Ft on Miami Beach (A one room laid out just like most of the apartments I like here)
But after a couple years got tired of all the responsibility so I sold it. Got about $5K more than I paid for it. Realtor wanted to ask $20K more but I wanted to move it.

Bought mt first and probably last home in 2003 when I was 43. We had a $160K house implode with the bubble in 2008 and become a $60K POS money pit...Actually it was $130K value in 2003, bought on a short sale for $108K with another $35K invested in it. Watched our taxes go from $1800 the first year to $3800 the last year we were in the place.

Even though I own this townhouse, I didn't buy it. My dad and mom turned it over to my siblings and I as part of their divorce settlement. I was 22 at the time.

I was 22 and my hubby 23... bought it from my sister for a great deal. Eventually signed it over to my brother a couple years ago, and that is the one that was destroyed in the flood.
