We have a Sony and a Kobo. Both can access our provincial library system. That was in fact why they were purchased {at different times of course} .

I have a regular Kindle that I bought back in September. I still prefer real books, but the Kindle is good for traveling.

I'm still not totally sure how they work. Do the books you want come preloaded onto them, or do you have to order some kind of card?

You go online from the kindle or from your computer or tablet to Amazon, pick a book you like in electronic format, pay for it and they send it to your tablet or kindle by what they call their whispernet. You have to have an account with them and they add on whatever you have a tablet or your computer or your kindle. Its amazing, it just appears on your kindle in a few minutes after you purchase it.
The books stay on your Kindle or tablet and Amazon keeps a copy of them. The Kindle can hold over 5,000 books.

I got my Kindle Touch for $149.00 but the cheapest one is $79.00 which is fine if your not a gadget guru like me.

Tony, kudos on the purchase. I am curious, what does "free 3G" mean? I am guessing you can not access the Internet without paying unless you are in wifi.
