I don's so much lose my appetite but I have lost track of eating if really engrossed in some creative project.

Most of the time I lose my appetite is when I wait too long to have lunch or dinner. I am usually hungry but then if I don't eat withing the hour I lose it entirely until the next meal.

That happens to me too, when I wait too long to eat.
