    Did you ever throw something away not knowing that it wasn't junk?

    Sometime last summer my mom asked me to clean out the medicine cabinet so anything we weren't using, just to pitch...and since I had no idea what they were, I threw out my father's floss picks and his contact lens containers with his $500 lenses in them. Shocked Luckily for me I suppose, he hadn't worn his contacts in about 20 years so, while it was a big financial loss it wasn't anything pressing. Now I just have to hope he never breaks his glasses and would ordinarily need them. d-oh!

    Yes. When I was fifteen, I mistakenly threw away my retainer.

    After 20 years I would think he would need a new pair of contact lenses anyway.

    You know, that's what I thought too but I don't know, I don't think he's even gotten his glasses changed in that long or more.

    Sorry Chris, but as a parent to a 15-year-old girl who 'lost' the glasses she didn't like wearing, I am skeptical of your 'mistake.'
