How do you feel about sites like Facebook, Amazon, IMDB, etc., etc, wanting some kind of phone or credit card number for verification purposes. Do you resist or comply?

I wouldn't comply, which is why I don't go to them kinda websites.

I've never been asked for either by facebook. In fact they sometimes want me to give permissions for certain apps but I always cancel them out - keep it simple as just a place to post forum topics/announcements or PM.

Of the examples I've only used Amazon and IMDb and I only needed the credit card for Amazon to buy something. I reckon anyone else can piss up a rope.

I was glad to have had an IMDb acct before they started the verification. No, I won't give out any numbers unless I am placing an order.

Well Amazon wants your credit card for purchases I never had them ask me for verification. Yes I would resist giving out anything to Facebook, IMDB etc.

I am grandfathered in at IMDB , if I should end up banned that would be the end of it, because I am not giving anyone (other than a couple of places I shop at)my credit card number. Phone number, sure I can always change that.
