I was born in Richmond California in 1944. I suppose I was born at the Richmond Field Hospital, which was established for all the Kaiser Shipyard workers during WWII.

My mother had to have a Cesarian after laboring 24 hours so I was born in Los Angeles General. We actually lived in Hermosa Beach at the time so they went quite a distance. It also counted that apparently LA General was a County hospital that didn't require payment.
Keeping in mind that I was born during the Depression in 1939 before the war started December 7, 1941. My folks were lucky if they had food on the table.
