Half and half. If I know I might be more than a few minutes, I'll put a quarter in....and then let it go over.

I don't think that situation has ever come up but if it did I would throw the coin in. With my luck I'd end up on an episode of Parking Wars.

This meter is an antique.
Wish they had convenient coin operated meters right next to your car. Now you have to find the box somewhere around the lot, go buy some tag and go back to your car and put it in the window. Great on a downpour day.
Actually, I have never used them since most of the time I ride a bike and when I do have a car only shop at places with a free parking lot.

I put a coin in, they are very vigilant with the parking meters here.

in my area it they are only really in Philadelphia, and then in the shore towns like Wildwood and Atlantic City. And since you mentioned Parking Wars.. I guess you know what it is like in philly! LOL When my family owned the body shop... we would have customer's cars who would get booted.. and we would be like WTF do we do now??? LOL they would actually come into our storage lot!

If I don't expect to be in there for more than five minutes, then I'll go ahead and risk it....otherwise I'll drop the quarters in. I got a parking meter ticket once. It was only $6, so it didn't hurt.
