Every male knows what the split stream is (I would imagine). Question: what the hell causes that, and how do you stop it? Thanks in advance!

I would guess the middle of the urethral meatus (pee hole) gets stuck together, probably from some dried semen, letting the urine flow out of the remaining opening in two streams.
Now, actually it is not a stream at all but a series of drops trailing behind each other so fast you don't see them, but they show up in a strobe or flash of a camera.
(Learned that with a guy into water sports and we were taking pix)

LMAO, I'm clearly not a guy but I squat when I use the toilet at work (my azz ain't touching that cesspool) and all I kept thinking was "I can't bend down that far today...I hope I don't have dual stream action cuz I can only control one!"

Girls do split stream?
I know girls can do a wide stream. Once watched this girl squat on the side of a convenience store and the light was behind her. It looked like the stream was an inch wide. More direct route out of the bladder so I guess you can really cut loose.
