If the weather is really sunny, go to the beach. If not a perfect beach day, may take in a movie. Nothing too much out of the ordinary - just another day in an arbitrary calendar numbering system that has no cosmic importance.
Of course some ppl will remind you that the cosmic calendar doesn't go beyond Dec. 12 EEEEK!!!

I have been invited to a couple of parties or have the option to go out on the town or spend a nice quiet evening at home with my SO. What do you think I want to do?

I think we will be at home. Probably just go out early for a drink or something. Maybe. I am not huge into going out anymore and I don't like to entertain when I think people may drink too much here.

Same as usual, which is not much but we have fun. Make a lot of junk food, alternate between the live scenes of New York, the Twilight Zone, and as tradition (don't ask why, I don't know) The Blob and Ghostbusters II, and at midnight we take out some TNT guns and champagne bottles.

I hope my ex and I get back together and spend the day/night together. I miss him and his son far too much, and all I want is a "holiday" with them.
