Should there be a maximum wage in conjunction to minimum wage?

No. Unless we're talking about politicians and CEO's.

That would kill all incentive to excel and be innovative. There should be no ceiling, just a more progressive tax system.

I think a lot of the politicians wages should be funneled to teachers... we get paid for SHIT and we work our asses off for kids... and the politicians just seem to fuck it all up for the kids. At least pay us more so we can live and provide more materials to our students so they can rise above the bullshit pool politicians create!

I don't think it matters how much anybody "needs" though. If somebody is making billions legitimately, then they should be able to keep them. So no to maximum wage and I say we tax them less too. The government doesn't need the money. It never makes sense to me to take more money from people making it legitimately and give it to the government...

But I do agree about the politicians. While folks like Obama try to give them all raises, they just keep bleeping things up. I think we definitely need term limits for congress and pay limits as well. And this is simply because if these whackos were doing this poor a job in a private sector career, they'd probably have been fired long ago. They only still have a job because the American people aren't as smart as we give them credit for, and they keep voting in the same ineffective dinosaurs. So yeah, in the case of government, who essentially get their paychecks off the backs of taxpayers, I say we can limit their pay.

But in terms of the normal workers, the maximum wage idea is just ridiculous. It does take away incentives to succeed. I think the minimum wage itself is something that has harmed work in America more than people care to realize. While I understand why it was originally enacted, it's turned into a disaster. A maximum wage would be an even worse disaster.
