Known Donor Register.com

On 20/20, I heard about a website called Known Donor Registry where childless people, who are desperate to conceive, go and intermingle with each other -- looking for a baby mama/daddy. Apparently they have you fill out a profile and survey, and from there you're on your own when it comes to finding your preferred match.

If you were wanting a child, but for whatever reason weren't in a situation where you were involved with someone to conceive, would you ever consider such a thing?

Sounds kind of screwy to me.

Know the legal and emotional risks. Not for me but I've never been in that desperate a postition to have a child.

No way. If I wanted something like that, I would go to a sperm bank. I wouldn't want the guy to run into me and my child one day then get the thought to want visitation.

i just cant see making my life more difficult than it already is. Chris and I discussed having a kid, and im like "no...dont think so".

i think ppl who are at that point, have already had miscarriage after miscarriage and suffered thru such financial and emotional trauma with IVF, that they are willing to do anything. I dont have that kind of desire for kids...never did.
