Is Twitter the new AOL? Empty Is Twitter the new AOL?

Remember back in the middle 90s, when the world discovered America Online and there were references to it on every commercial, news broadcast, etc., etc.? Now the same thing is pretty much happening with Twitter. I noticed last night while watching the news that under the anchors names were their Twitter IDs.

Do you think Twitter is a worthwhile communications tool, and a significant way of keeping up with people?

Personally I think it beats the hell outta facebook. The have some issues they need to address before too many people get pissed off & frustrated & quit. But it's good communication most of the time. Not sure about keeping up with people. Your timeline can get overwhelmed depending on how many people you follow but you could probably sidestep that by utilizing the "lists" function.

I guess. I don't use Twitter and really don't see the purpose of it at all. I still have my AOL e-mail that I use semi-regularly.
