Can you swim?

I'm a decent swimmer. Can keep myself afloat, do laps and am not likely to drown.

How good a swimmer are you?

Pretty good, I guess, but out of shape. I was one course away from getting my lifeguarding but I wasn't old enough and by the time I was, 2 years later, I'd lost interest. My Dad put himself through university as a lifeguard and had my brother in the water from a very early age. He figures we learned to swim before we could walk. I love the water!

Same here, I'm decent. My dad taught me how to swim.....but I still want to take an official swimmer's course.

Yes, how well I do, I don't know...I think if we had more of a full sized pool I could better evaluate my work. I'd probably not even make it the first mile in the Englihs Channel but I'd like the chance to try someday.

When I was very little I was terrified of the water but my dad (being a champion swimmer and swim coach) was not going to have one of his kids not knowing how to swim. I remember him making it very plain that my learning was GOING to happen and that there wasn't any getting out of it. One day when I was about 5, we went to the beach and I tried to refuse to get in. Finally he grabbed me kicking and screaming and jumped into the pool with me on his shoulder. That day I learned how to float. By the end of the summer I could swim.

I'm pretty good. Not expert level but I passed swim class in school.

I am a very poor swimmer.

Not afraid of the water but I "swim" like a stone.

I am a registered open water Scuba diver, so yes I can swim.

I'm not going anywhere near the deep end, so that should tell you something.
