It's getting close to that time to put up the swimming pool again and I'm looking forward to it. In the dead of summer the pool eventually becomes THE best place to cool off, even when we have the AC on. I personally could not imagine going a summer without swimming, I've been doing it almost literally since I was born. How about everyone else? Do you like swimming or are you more of just a pool lounger or do you avoid the pool altogether?

I love lounging and reading at the pool! I'll even swim a few laps.

That's about what I do also. I don't swim in the ocean (got a contractual agreement with the sharks and so far they have honored it and not bothered me on the beach.)alan smithee wrote:I love lounging and reading at the pool! I'll even swim a few laps.
When on a cruise I spend lots of time on the pool deck but very little in the pool. I do spend too much time in the hot tub.

Yeah, I like to swim. I like being around water so I'm not the type to go to a pool party or the beach and wouldn't get in the water. It's like, 'the fuck you going there for?'

Only barely. You know black folks don't swim. If I go in the water, I won't be going past the shallow end.

A pool lounger. If I get in at all, I won't be doing any laps. I'll just stand there....I don't swim.

I'm not champion-level, but I can do laps. My parents were big on me learning how to swim as a child, and made me take lessons when I was about seven years old.

I love to swim! I swim every once in a while, though I keep meaning to do it more because I do like it a lot. I was given swimming lessons with a swimming coach when I was a child, so I pretty much know how to swim, but I rarely go past the shallow end because deep water scares me. I really only like to play in the water - throw balls, splash around, etc.
