Christmas Eve

What are your plans for today?

Watching Netflix. This is my first day off in like forever......I'm just going to chill and do nothing all day.

Just got the cakes baked. Still have the cookies & stuff to do. Gotta pick up a couple things while the stores are still open. Not sure about dinner but NOT cooking tonight.

I live alone, an old man in a one room efficiency on Miami Beach. No family plans, no festive Xmas tree or warm kitchen full of sweet cooking aromas.

Well, like I'm gonna stay inside.

My biggest prob is deciding where to ride my bike. It is a bright, blue sky, sunny day with just a little chill but still good beach weather to hang out at our nude beach.

OR, my original plan to bike the other direction to the Cineplex and watch True Grit, or Monsters or I Love You Phillip Morris. That will happen over the next couple of days.

For those who were envious that I get every Friday off, you can now enjoy that I am getting screwed today and next Friday, which our agency has as a Paid Holiday for everyone. That is, if you are scheduled to work on Friday.

Too much free time equals madness:

The Attempted Robbery Before Christmas

Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house
Creatures were stirring, scaring away the mouse
The stockings were hung by the chimney to get them out of the way
So us parents could get out all the crap we bought our kids for Christmas day

The children were nestled all snug in their beds
While visions of free toys danced in their heads
And my wife in her nightgown, and me in my drawers
Were angrily opening and slamming our doors

Out on the lawn there rose such a clatter
I sprang from the couch to see what was the matter
Away to the window I flew with a flash
Took out my gun to blow this bastard to ash

And what to my wondering eyes should appear
Was a crook dressed as Santa, robbing me to end his year
So shrewd and so blatant, and oh so quick
I thought to myself, “what a cruel and heartless trick”

To the back of the yard, to the back of the wall
This guy easily snuck through them all
Through the back door he came with a sly and twisted smile
It looked like he had not shaved in quite a while.

He was clad in red from his head to his toe
As if he was forced to dress on the go.
An empty knapsack he carried on his back
In it our Christmas gifts, he hoped to pack

He spoke not a word but went straight to work
He tore off my back door, like a Grade A jerk
Laying a finger on the trigger of my gun
I said with a smile, "Let's have some fun."

I inched down the stairs to block his way in
In just a moment, his end would begin
With aim like a hunter and stealth like a cat
I fired a bullet right where his leg was at

He fell to the ground with a thud and a bang
A melee of Christmas profanity, he loudly sang
With a glare of defeat, he looked to me
The man who stopped his heist was all he could see

Relieved and accomplished by the victorious sight
I shouted "Merry Christmas you jackass, and to all a good night."

Gonna go look at the Christmas lights.

It's been a really quiet Christmas Eve this way. I had some company earlier, but they have since left. Now it's just me rattling around in this quiet apartment. I'll probably call my mom and sister later on tonight, though.

I am about to go hang out with my 2 buddies for a little while. Gotta come home and get to sleep tho cuz the sooner you get to sleep the sooner SANTA comes!!!

Same for me. Been quiet in my house. Just watching TV and eating. Got some presents that still need wrapping but I'll do that later before bed.

just got my xmas shopping done, now im at work til 11 pm then gotta wrap all my gifts, then sleep, wake up open gifts wit my roomates then head to my mamas

Today was a wonderful day. My God Daughter was born late last night, so I went to see her and she is amazing and so cool.

This evening, my step daughter and her boyfriend came here and we had such a fun night with a good dinner and a lot of laughs. Now the house is quiet and everyone is asleep and I am enjoying Christmas music and quiet time alone, which I always really like.

CONGRATS ON UR GOD DAUGHTER BEING BORN!! Wats her name?

Thank you so much, Cheaps. Her name is Lainey. She is truly kick butt. I held her for over an hour today and it went by too fast. She is not quite good at nursing yet, so we left when the lactation specialist came or I probably would have stayed at the hospital all afternoon!

I spend Christmas Eve with the family, didn't get home until 3 am but it was a great evening, I love my family.
