    Actually, in many locales porn was illegal for years. It has been challenged in court as infringing on our First Amendment rights against censorship over those years to where only that which can be deemed obscene is now illegal.

    However, I see no reason to make prostitution illegal either, and those few places where it is legal seem to be doing alright.
