Marc's post about email accounts got me thinking about this. With all your on-line accounts (Amazon, iTunes, bank accounts, etc.), how many different user names and passwords do you have? How do you keep track of them? Some accounts I have use my email address as my user name and some don't so I can't always use the same name and they have different password requirments too. I bought a cheap address book and write them down in that.

Re: User names and passwords
I live alone so I have a sheet of paper on my desk at home with all my Web accounts logon name (mostly Shale or a variation) and passwords.
This is bad security, but hackers are more likely to access me thru my computer rather than my front door.
It is also part of my instructions to my grandson who will be tasked to access all my forum boards and social networks to announce my eventual death (assuming I don't outlast the Internet or this social network phenomenon).

Re: User names and passwords
I was thinking about this the other day, sometimes I use the same usernames on things but I have a different password for every single one. I keep track of them in my mind, I don't have them written down anywhere.

Re: User names and passwords
I use the same password for a lot, and need to change that. For financial and credit card account things, I use a variety so none are duplicated. I have them noted in my address book.

Re: User names and passwords
I have a little notebook but I am vague in it, I only use the first letter of the password I write it down like this:
G-----------656734 Only I know what the G word is.

Goodfuck?
I have a small handful of user names for different things, but they all are attached to one of three different passwords. I really don't like having to keep up with multiple users/passwords, but sometimes I have to.

Re: User names and passwords
I keep track of all my userIDs and passwords with a text doc on my computer, but I try to use the same password for most of my log in's. I try to use "CatEyes10736" as often as I can too, but sometimes I'm forced to alternate.

Re: User names and passwords
My passwrods and usernames are similar for most online things, except for banking and stuff like that. I don't bother writing them down - just keep them in my head.
