    I hate it when on TV in commercials and stuff, the women will ask 'does this make me look fat?' and then get offended if the men say yes. You asked the question! You took a chance that they would give an answer different than the one you're looking for, why not just cut to the chase and say 'tell me I look gorgeous in this you pinhead'?

    My mother said she did that once and of course, my dad said yes, and I told her, 'well, you ASKED'. I don't get why anybody would do that, it's like trying on a new dress is like being a lawyer, you do NOT ask a question you don't already know what the answer's going to be.

    No, I don't ask that question. If I'm dating, I try to put in effort to look nice and I think I do, and if they don't like it, tough shit.

    I don't usually ask that. If you don't want an honest answer, don't ask that question. I have asked that about some outfits and I want an honest opinion because some clothes sit well on me and others don't so when I'm asking it's because I want the truth and if they say yes, I put the outfit back on the rack and find something more flattering.
