    Robert Block wrote many things that you might be familiar with but not know. Among other things he wrote the novel Psycho that Alfred Hitchcock turned into a movie. He also penned some teleplays for the Alfred Hitchcock Presents series. This is a short story that was originally published in The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction but I remember reading in an Alfred Hitchcock anthology (I guess they had a good working relationship.)
