Aleve, liquid gels if I got 'em. Always have it in some form.

IDK for sure if I'm allergic to acetamenophen or the other ingredient in most cold med, but ibuprofen works for me.

Re: Pain reliever
If I can stand the pain, I usually won't take anything at all (I try to avoid drugs if I can). If I can't, then I'll breakdown and take an over the counter pain med. Which one depends on my symptoms usually.
1. Headaches: I prefer Excedrin (which is a combination of asprin, acetaminophen and caffeine). This drug works the fastest to relieve headaches in my opinion.
2. Body aches/pains: I prefer Aleve (naproxin). I used to take Advil or Motrin (both ibuprofen) but I find that naproxin lasts a lot longer than ibuprofen based drugs.
3. Fever/Flu: I take Tylonol (acetaminaphen). For a fever, nothing beats Extra Strength Tylonol. But that's the only thing I'll take Tylonol for since it's the hardest drug on your liver.

That's what Aleve does for me too and the relief comes faster. Tylenol's effect on the liver has scared me away from it.

I hope you girls know that Midol is really just various other pain relievers packaged under a fancy name to give the impression that it is specifically formulated to relieve cramps? There is no difference between the economy sized bottle of store brand ibuprofen and Midol Maximum Strength Cramp. If you take 2 pills form either bottle, you are getting the same exact medication. However, the Midol will cost you many times the price per pill as compared to your store brand purchase. Here are the ingredients for various "Midol" products:
Midol "Liquid Gels": 200mg Ibuprofen
Midol "Extended Relief": 220mg Naproxin
Midol "Teen": 500mg Acetaminophen
Midol "Complete": 500mg Acetaminophen; 60 mg Caffine
Midol "PM": 500mg Acetaminophen; 38mg Diphenhydramine citrate (sedative)
Just FYI, if you buy Midol, you're getting ripped off by the Bayer company. That's right, the company that sells Bayer asprin also sells ibuprofen (Advil), naproxin (Aleve) and acetaminophen (Tylonol) except that they just call it "Midol" instead hoping that the placebo effect of a product targetted specifically to women will make you think it works better than cheaper brands of the exact same medicine!
