Obviously I don't because this was long before my time (though I enjoy them very much), but do any of the older members here remember this album? Too bad they don't come up with anything like this for kids now.

Re: Does anybody remember these?
I find it very interesting the way we coddle kids SO much these days, can't have anything in their own entertainment that might be TOO violent. In cartoons they don't say 'he killed them', they say 'he GOT them'.
A couple weeks back I found a kids' book of ghost stories at the library, Ghosts and Ghastlies by Helen Hoke (editor)...you wouldn't know these were children's stories, let me tell you. One was about a ghost of a man who was stabbed to death and cut into pieces and burnt up in the fire to cover up the crime, and asked the lawyer occupying the room the murder occured in to bring the killers to justice, the lawyer didn't and the next day he was found strangled to death with his head in the grate.
Another involved a school where a previous teacher had tried to burn it down and set herself on fire and one of her students died in the fire as well and it was believed she purposely killed the girl. A new teacher came, one who could see the ghost of the last teacher, always in a black dress, never saying a word, and she found a note by the dead girl she had written to her parents saying she loved teh teacher, not them, and that wherever the teacher went she would go as well, thus she willingly killed herself to be with her favorite teacher.
Now, I'd like to know who would have the brass balls to put something like that in a kids' book today. Then again I've also noticed you don't see any ghost story anthologies for kids anymore either, why is that?

Re: Does anybody remember these?
Do you remember Troll books? The schools used to send us home with a flyer of various books suitable for school aged kids. I remember a book called "Spooky tricks" and it was literally weird gags to play on your friends. There was also an author named Daniel Cohen who wrote real ghost stories and i love it.
Ever heard of the Disney movie "Child of Glass"-- it was 1978 TV movie. I got it on VHS years later from Ebay. Its about this boy whose family moves into a big southern plantation. The boy meets the ghost of a little girl who was murdered and thrown down a well. i havent seen it in a long time, but I remembered it from my childhood cause i thought it was "spooky" and interesting.

Re: Does anybody remember these?
I never heard of either of those but they sound interesting.
Oh, and here's another one that would never get approved today, an I-Can-Read book, you know the kinds, very few words but pictures that accompany the words, based on famous ghost stories, including the one with the woman who wore a green ribbon around her neck all her life, and only when she was dying would she let her husband take it off and when he did her head fell on the floor, complete with illustrations!

It's true.
Most of the things that children watch, they don't understand anyway. Like with Rocko's Modern Life or Ren & Stimpy. Both disgustingly sexual and horrendous shows, but do you think I got any of those references at age five? No.
It was more like... "omg talking Australian wallaby is amazing..."

We never watched those shows as kids, my mom never let us watch any of the Nicktoons, the only one we ever got away with was Kablaam and there was always some kind of debate over whether it counted as one.

Well I think I'm one of the youngest people here and I find it funny if I can find something that is not general knowledge, so all other responses considered as well I'm not sure what I'm supposed to feel like.
