| Do you get annoyed or bored when your friends and co-workers with kids talk about them incessantly? | |

| Umm, no. I never really had that problem. A lot of my friends don't have kids anyway. | |

I'm doing fine. Trying to enjoy this day off before the new work week begins.

| Different angle here: I was a parent (child deceased) and I get irritated when people go on and on and on about their children. I have one co-worker who is terrible about this ~ we all feel that we know far more about her personal life than we should.
And, no, I was not guilty of this. I talked a little about my daughter, but when I'm at work I leave my personal life behind. My brain "compartmentalizes".

| Sometimes it does. It's one thing to casually mention their kids every now and again in passing, but I'm not interested in having my ear regularly talked off about their perfect little angels school project or about the headaches their rotten little devils are causing them. I can't relate and I don't care. Listening to people boast or complain ad nauseum about their kids is boring to me. | |

Sorry for your loss, that is one thing I can't imagine. My workplace is very close, and because we usually work 60hrs a week, we spend more time together than with anyone else. We get off on weekdays instead of weekends, work nights instead of days--- and usually there are alot of office romances. i think because of this, people do go on about their kids and whatever else is important to them. When they talk too much about kids, I talk too much about my dog to get back at them! lol

The friend I go to the gym with has a young son who says and does some funny stuff that I like to hear about.

| I haven't had anyone incessantly brag or bitch about their kids to me. It's usually casual talk and so I don't mind. | |

| I never had that problem because the only friends I have who DO have kids are in their 40s or so and not the closest of friends I'm on the most daily basis with. | |

| Most people I know with kids don't talk about them incessantly. Had one co-worker who talked about her theater group incessantly and that got old fast but most of the people I know will talk about their kids when asked but then move on. | |
