Have you ever been out in public, and found yourself caught, or trapped, by a severe storm (blizzard, tornado, hurricane, etc., etc.)?

Yes. It was terrible. We were at parade and it was a beautiful day and out of nowhere a storm blew in and there was hail. My son's dad rushed to get the car to bring it closer. My son was only 3 or 4 and was getting pelted by the hail and it was terrible.

My brother and I were driving home from a second hand store and we got caught in a downpour that was so bad it was like a monsoon. It was the worst we'd ever been caught in and we couldn't even see the damn road but kept driving to get home before anything bigger hit.

ditto. And it turns out that the last storm really did kill my car engine and i gotta wait for the insurance guy to come back out for the supplement! cries

we had some pretty bad blizzards last year, and my stupid job says that we are "essential personnel" so that when they call a state of emergency, we have to go in... not fun.

Yeah that was an incredible story about the flash flood and your car, hope you get that settled real quickly.

Been caught in snow and thunderstorms....I get a slight kick out of the latter, but the former is no fun.

About three years ago I was driving home from work while it was thunderstorming harder than I had ever seen before. I'm on the road driving at approx. 5 mph but couldn't see anything out of my windshield or side/back windows. The rain was that hard and unrelenting. That was scary. I finally had to roll down my window (getting soaked) to try and guide myself to a side street I could pull over on.
